چکیده

Michel Verhaegen Delft University of Technology Delft Center for Systems and Control Delft 2628 CD, The Netherlands Abstract. A new method for adaptive prediction and correction of wavefront errors in adaptive optics (AO) is introduced. The new method is based on receding-horizon control design and an adaptive lattice filter. Experimental results presented illustrate the capability of the new adaptive controller to predict and correct aero-optical wavefronts derived from recent flight-test data. The experimental results compare the performance of the new adaptive controller the performance of a minimum-variance adaptive controller previously used in AO. These results demonstrate the reduced sensitivity of the receding-horizon adaptive controller to high-frequency sensor noise. © 2013 Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE) [DOI: 10.1117/1.OE.52.7.071406]

Receding Horizon Based Control of Disturbed Upright Balance with Consideration of Foot Tilting(RESEARCH NOTE)

In some situations, when an external disturbance occurs, humans can rock stably backward and forward by lifting the toe or the heel to keep the upright balance without stepping. Many control schemes have been proposed for standing balance control under external disturbances without stepping. But, in most of them researchers have only considered a flat foot phase. In this paper a framework is pr...

Evaluation of Passive Boundary Layer Flow Control Methods for Aero-Optic Mitigation

Results of recent experimental measurements of the effect of passive boundary layer flow control method using Large-Eddy Break-Up devices on aero-optical distortions caused by turbulent subsonic boundary layers at a range of trans-sonic speeds are presented. Measurements were performed using a Malley probe to collect instantaneous onedimensional wavefronts with high resolution. Detailed statist...

Multivariable Receding-Horizon Predictive Control for Adaptive Applications

This paper presents a multivariable receding-horizon predictive control strategy. It does not require knowledge of the interactor matrix of a process and therefore is suited to adaptive applications. The proposed scheme also allows equality constraints to be imposed on each channel, thereby guaranteeing asymptotic stability.

Numerical Prediction of the Spatial and Temporal Characteristics of the Aero-optical Disturbance Produced by a Helicopter in Hover

by Ryan T. Kelly Aero-optical disturbances produced from turbulent compressible flow-fields can seriously degrade the performance of an optical signal. At compressible flight speeds these disturbances stem from the density variations present in turbulent boundary-layers and free-shear layers; however helicopters typically operate at incompressible speeds which nearly eliminates the aberrating e...
